Discover God’s Easter gift for you and for me

Jesus came to Earth to teach people about God. “But some of the people did not understand the way Jesus fit into God’s special plan.” He died on a cross, and that was sad. But he came alive again and lives in heaven today!

I wish I would have read the reviews explaining how the illustrations greatly detract from this book. I don't mind the simple and fast paced story of Jesus's life and how He died and rose again, and that we have to believe in Him in order to see Him in Heaven someday. But I completely agree that the illustrations are super weird. As was mentioned, the story mentions how Jesus was born, but there is not a depiction of this--instead, there is a picture of a mother and daughter taking a walk in the spring, which doesn't tie into the text at all. But what ruined this book for me is the illustration of an angel flying through town! I disliked it so much that I modified the picture by drawing an empty tomb over part of the town buildings. It's like the illustrator did not have a sense of The Easter Story whatsoever. And as others have mentioned, the title is strange because the book never explained that the Easter gift was that Jesus rose again. Also, while the cover shows Easter eggs, the book never explains their significance in our Easter celebrations, if you incorporate them at all as a Christian. Overall, a lot of potential confusion for a little minds if you ask me!

An Easter Gift for Me edition by Crystal Bowman Children eBooks Reviews

I was looking for an Easter book written with the true meaning of Easter that was appropriate for young children and this book is very appropriate.
Perfect
We ordered this to help tell our 4 yr old and almost 2 yr old the story of Easter. We wanted something that focused on the Christian reason for Easter since so much of what they are exposed to focuses on the Easter bunny and eggs. This book does the job. It's a nice, short story that is adorably illustrated and tells the true meaning of Easter without being overwhelming. I highly recommend it.
Just arrived. The story is great however this "board book" is made of very VERY thin cheap cardboard and consequently kind of warped. Very disappointed in the quality. Doubtful this will hold up well for our 13 month old twins. Considering sending it back.
This is one of the books I bought my 17 month old for Easter this year. Obviously he's too young to read but as he gets older we will definitely pull this one back out each year, and other times if he asks questions. The book puts the story in an easy to read format for children, with short sentences, rhyme, and great illustrations. The page that covers Jesus' suffering and death was very well done for introducing young children to the story. I can't wait to share this with our child.
Any book that I can give my grandchildren along with Easter egg toys, eggs and candy is well worth the money. We read the story together before we played with toys and ate candy to be sure they started to understand what Easter is really about. Thanks for great book.
We like "J is for Jesus" better, but this is a good intro to Easter in toddler-world. He points out the tears on Jesus' friends, and we talk about how they were sad. Then, on the next page, they are happy. Oh, hooray!
